Waste water often has a high content of oil & grease and chemicals, which need to be removed prior to discharge. In industry segments such as refining, many other contaminants such as VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) or chemicals are observed in the waste water. Those can be very toxic and are subject to strict regulations, which require them to be removed prior to discharge. Due to the nature of the industry water treatment systems often need to be designed and built “explosion-proof”.

For the removal of oil and grease, De.mem can deploy Induced Air Floatation (IAF), centrifuges, cyclone equipment, API separators, CPI separators, Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) or oil skimmers.
As for the waste water treatment, anaerobic and aerobic processes using Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB), Membrane Bioreactors (MBR), Sludge Bioreactors (SBR), clarifiers and chemical dosing are deployed.
Deionization of recycled wastewater for re-use can be achieved by Ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis, Mixed Bed Vessels or electro-deionization.
