Desalination

Desalination

With technological advances in energy recovery, Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and membrane development, the cost of desalination has come down significantly over the last two decades. Furthermore, the increase contamination of source of water led to desalination being considered as a viable alternative to other water treatment methods.

De.mem Pte Ltd designs sophisticated desalination processes for brackish water (BWRO) or seawater (SWRO) through Reverse Osmosis (RO) as a means of obtaining high quality drinking water, as well as pure feed water for power generation and other industrial processes.

Groundwater contamination can either be natural due to the presence of excessive iron, silica and hydrogen sulphide or man-made such as seawater intrusion of aquifer due to deep well pumping, untreated waste or chemical seepage in the groundwater.

De.mem Pte Ltd designs decentralized, containerized, modular and scalable brackish and seawater reverse osmosis desalination systems for groundwater contaminated areas, remote locations, off-shore facilities or isolated Islands.

The process design is illustrated in the block diagram below. The process involves pre-treatment, reverse osmosis, post treatment and potable water botting processes.
